Tirupur collector listens to 95 public grievances over phone

COIMBATORE: Tirupur district collector K Vijayakarthikeyan on Monday listened to the grievances of people over the phone. The collector received 95 calls from the public.
The district administration had been conducting grievance redressal meetings for several years, on Mondays. The meeting was called off in March due to the Covid-19, and officials installed a petition box at the collector’s office.
Now, to prevent the public from visiting the collectorate, the collector decided to listen to people’s grievances over the phone calls on every Monday.
Most of the petitions which the collector got on the first day of the initiative were about damaged roads, improper drinking water supply, senior citizen pensions, new ration cards and land pattas.
The public can contact the collector on 0421 – 2969999 from 11am to 1pm on every Monday.
