Development work in J&K has intensified since the abrogation of Article 370. Health & Education infrastructure has received a remarkable push. It is part of Rs. 80,000 crore Package announced for J&K in 2015. Authorities are endeavouring to provide state of the art infrastructure. Construction work of premier institutions like IITs, IIMs and AIIMS are ongoing. Besides 2 AIIMS, the UT will have seven new medical colleges. Existing medical facilities are now equipped with a robust infrastructure. Health cover to all through Jammu and Kashmir Health Scheme is already underway. Rs 5 Lac each has been earmarked for 15 lakh families. To ensure transparency in the system and deliver service seamlessly 78,000 patients treated in empanelled hospitals under PM-JAY.
