NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday thanked singer Lata Mangeshkar for wishing him on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
The legendary singer tweeted a video featuring her photographs with the Prime Minister to wish him on Raksha Bandhan. Soon after, the PM, in a tweet, thanked Mangeshakr for her wishes and wished her a healthy and a long life.
In the video, Mangeshkar said that she couldn't send a rakhi to the PM for obvious reasons, an apparent reference to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

"The entire country knows the work done by you for your country. The country will never be able to forget. Promise us that you would take India even higher," she said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to singer's wishes, saying that her heartfelt message bestows him with immense inspiration and energy.
"With the blessings of crores of mothers and sisters of this country, our nation will achieve new heights of glory every day. I pray for your health and long life," the PM responded to the singer's tweet.
