The Enforcement Directorate has questioned the chartered account (CA) of actor Sushant Singh Rajput in connection with the money-laundering case lodged against Rhea Chakraborty by Sushant's father KK Singh. Sandeep Sridhar, the CA of actor Sushant, who died on June 14, was earlier questioned by the Mumbai Police.
India Today has learnt that the financial probe agency had summoned Sandeep for questioning. During questioning, according to sources, Sandeep was asked about the transactions between Sushant and Rhea.
Sandeep had earlier told the Mumbai Police that no major transfer from Sushant’s account, except a few thousand, took place in Rhea’s account.
In the complaint filed in Patna, Sushant's father KK Singh had accused Rhea and her family members of fraud of Rs 15 crore.
“In the coming days, Rhea, along with others [from her family], will be summoned for questioning,” said a source.
In the complaint, Sushant's father had said, "In 2019, Sushant had Rs 17 crore in his account but within months, Rs 15 crore was transferred to the accounts not linked to him. It should be investigated as to how much of that money has been defrauded by Rhea and her associates.”
ED sources have told India Today that their probe will be focused on the allegations of Rs 15 crore defraud and others.
Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey had earlier requested Rhea Chakraborty to join the investigation of Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. He had also said that the actress has been missing. To which, Rhea's lawyer, Satish Manishinde today said that Rhea isn't missing. Her statement was recorded by the Mumbai police and she has cooperated with them. However, she hasn't been officially summoned by Bihar police.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh in a press conference today (August 3) shared details about their investigation on Sushant Singh Rajput's death. Param Bir Singh said that Sushant Singh Rajput was upset after his name was linked to the death of his ex-manager Disha Salian. Disha died 5 days before Sushant, and a case of accidental death was registered. In addition, it was revealed that Sushant would search for articles and his name on Google to find out what was being written about him. He would also search for "painless death", "schizophrenia" and "bipolar disorder".
