Man trampled to death by elephant in Coimbatore

COIMBATORE: An unidentified person was trampled to death by a wild elephant on Mettupalayam-Kotagiri hill road near the third hairpin bend on Sunday morning.
Frontline staff from Sirumugai forest range found a dead body on Mettupalayam-Kotagiri hill road on Sunday morning. The unidentified person was trampled to death by a wild elephant and the deceased was about 45-year-old.
Immediately the frontline staff sent the dead body to the government hospital at Mettupalayam for postmortem. The preliminary inquiry revealed that the deceased was mentally challenged person and he was roaming in the hill road. He was attacked by the elephant in the hill road during night hour.
