Sandeep Singh said that corruption will be not tolerated in the funds released for government development works. "If there is any irregularity in the quality of construction work, strict action will be taken against all the officers and contractors involved."
Sandeep had come to Thana village to conduct a surprise inspection of the five-pond system created by the forest department.
During this, Sandeep fiercely took a class of officers on the spot given the quality found in the construction work.
"Only issuing of tenders does not end the duty of officers. Monitoring the quality of construction work is also duty of officers", said Sandeep. During the same construction work, on December 5, Sandeep had reached the spot and instructed the officials and contractors to pay attention to quality and said that they will do the checking themselves after the work is completed.
But despite this, carelessness was taken. The situation got such that in about seven months the construction work has started to collapse. The walls of the project collapsed in water and walking on the footpath built on it was also dangerous. Annoyed at the construction, Sandeep lashed out at the officials present on the spot and ordered an inquiry against the contractor and report immediately.
He said that no sarcasm will be tolerated regarding the construction work. "No person involved in corruption will be spared", he said. Sandeep said he would himself talk to the chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar about canceling the license of contractor and registering an FIR against firm.
The minister said that the government is spending crores of rupees for development works and corruption will not be tolerated.
It is notable that five-pond system w was built by the Forest Department at two places in Thana village police station for storing dirty water. Their purpose was to store the dirty water in the village and clean it so that there would not be any kind of pollution in the Brahmsarovar pilgrimage site. The government spent lakhs of rupees at both the places.
During the construction work, Sandeep had himself given orders to take care of the quality of work. But despite this, inferior material was used. The villagers had complained to minister Sandeep Singh. After which he himself reached the village on Sunday.
The minister was very upset with the actions of the contractors. He gave a clear warning to the officials that if any officer is found involved in corruption, his job may be in danger.
The minister said clearly that the time has come for action. Everyone involved in corruption will be investigated and strict action will be taken.
