Punjab hooch tragedy: Patiala police continue raid on second day, seize 5,600 litres of lahan

Patiala police have so far arrested 13 persons in two days and registered 31 cases.
PATIALA: Continuing its crusade against illicit liquor smugglers on day two after Punjab hooch tragedy, Patiala police on day conducted raids on large scale in the district to expose and nab the culprits indulged in the illegal trade.
Supervising the raid operation himself, SSP Vikram Jeet Duggal said that those putting the lives of the people at risk by supplying and manufacturing spurious liquor would not be spared at any cost.
Patiala police have so far arrested 13 persons in two days and registered 31 cases and seized four operating stills, besides recovering more than 7,420 litres of lahan and 1,212 bottles of illicit liquor, he added.
The cops have also arrested Shisha Masih, Ranga Masih and Bhinder from Hajipur village of Julka police station with seizures of 2,600 litres of lahan and 25 bottles of illicit liquor.
More than 3,000 litres of lahan have been recovered from Marauri. Around 6,000 litres of caustic soda were also recovered from backside of Manjit Dhaba near Rajpura.
