*From 16,000 workers till the start of the Shramik Special trains, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), which is executing several mega infrastructure projects in the city and the rest of the MMR, is now down to about 3,500 workers.

*The paper published in Science Advances, a peer-reviewed medical journal brought out by the American Association for the Advancement of Science, said that countries with mandatory Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccination showed “slower infection and death rates” during the first 30 days of the Covid-19 outbreak in their country.

* JD Kennel in Panvel, is among the rare breed of pet foster parents who has been performing an underrated essential service: looking after pets of Covid patients who have been quarantined in hospitals or care centres.

*The BMC plans to carry out a city-wide random testing for antibodies to the coronavirus that causes Covid-19. While the plan is still in its infancy, senior BMC officials hoped such a test—by determining how many citizens have been exposed to the virus or have antibodies—would help them plan unlocking strategies for the city.
