Trichy: Portion of Gandhi Market marked as containment zone after eight Covid cases reported

TRICHY: Trichy corporation on Sunday cordoned off major commercial streets passing through Gandhi market due to a sudden hike in Covid-19 positive cases. As many as eight cases were reported in the area, including street vendors and a policeman.
Following this, the civic body barricaded the streets to curb public movement.
The corporation stated that for the next 14 days all shops in the streets will remain closed.
The zone has blocked access to Vellamandi road, Thanjavur main road, Nelpettai street and Dharbarmedu.
