Undertaking to civil surgeon must before going for home isolation: E Singhbhum DC

Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum DC, Suraj Kumar, on Friday said the asymptomatic patients or those with mild symptoms of the virus can go for home quarantine provided they give an undertaking to the district civil surgeon that they will follow all the safety protocols.
The directive comes after it came to light that several patients in home quarantine were flouting the protocols.
As per the rules of home quarantine, a Covid-19 patient has to live in a separate room with an attached washroom. He/she must not come in contact with other members of the family and his/her health should be monitored by an attendant round-the-clock.
The attendant must constantly be in touch with the district health officials and keep them apprised about the patient’s condition on a regular basis.
The family members of such a patient should have in their house a thermometer, an oximeter, a thermal scanner, among others, to monitor their health.
Meanwhile, a special administrative team, during a surprise inspection on Thursday, found a private tutor conducting a class at his home under Sonari police station area with 11 students without maintaining the social distancing norms. Chandradev Prasad, who was heading the team, instructed all the students to move out of the room. The teacher was then slapped with a notice and asked to give clarifications for violating the safety protocol.
Another administrative team instructed the street food vendors in Kadma area to shut their shops for allowing customers to gather at their shops to eat. Similarly, two shopkeepers in Golmuri area were instructed to shut their shops for 72 hours for failing to maintain social distancing norms.
