The Uttar Pradesh government on Thursday issued guidelines for the third phase of lockdown based on the latest guidelines of the Center, 3,765 Kovid cases a day were reported in the state and 57 deaths occurred.


There are more than 1,000 active cases in at least seven districts of the state. As per the Centre's guidelines, the state said that gyms and yoga centers could reopen from August 5, provided social distancing and other protocols were followed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

However, the UP government said that the lockdown would continue on weekends from 10 pm Friday to 5 am Monday. These restrictions were announced on 10 July. With only essential services in such areas, the lockout in the contribution zone will continue till 31 August.

In its order, the state government said that schools, colleges, and coaching centers will remain closed till August 31 and education will continue online. Cinema halls, swimming pools, amusement parks, theaters, bars, and assembly halls will remain closed. Metro railway also will not run.

All social, political, sports, entertainment, educational, cultural, and religious events are also prohibited.

The government said that the Independence Day programs would be organized at various levels like state, tehsil, municipal corporation, and panchayat with "at home" programs. Social distancing and other protocols have to be followed while organizing the program.
