Plea filed on mental hospital Covid inmates

THANE: The issue of providing adequate treatment to Covid-19 inmates of mental hospitals in the state was raised by BJP leader Kirit Somaiya, as he filed a petition with State Human Rights Commission against the government for callousness on Friday.
TOI had reported two deaths of inmates at Thane mental hospital due to Covid-19 last week. He raised the issue along with MLA Niranjan Davkhare. He said it was sad that the health of inmates was ignored, there have been no guidelines for their treatment and precautions were not being taken.
