The Karnataka government said on Thursday that there will be no Sunday lockdown in the state from August 2. Night curfew has also been removed from 9 am to 5 am.

The announcement came after the state government decided to further relax the COVID-19 inspired regulations as 3.0 guidelines were issued in line with the norms of the Center.

In view of the increasing cases of coronovirus, the government implemented full lockdown on Sunday starting July 5.

For the first time since the Coronavirus lockdown came into force on 25 March, the government gave permission to open yoga institutes and gymnasiums from 5 August.

As per the order, a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for this will be issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Karnataka.

The guidelines will come into effect from August 1 and strict enforcement of lockdown in control areas will continue until August 31.
