Covid patient flees, his body found in Dombivli creek

KALYAN: A day after a 53-year-old Covid-19 patient fled from a civic Covid-19 hospital at Savlaram sports complex, his body was found in Dombivli creek on Thursday evening. He was discharged last week after he recovered.
Senior inspector of Vishnu Nagar police station Rajendra Munagekar said, “After recovery, he had a fresh problem, so his family admitted him back on Wednesday, from where he fled.” A passer-by noticed the body.
Menagekar said a primary probe showed that the patient was unhappy.
BJP leader Kirit Somaiya raised the issue and decided to meet his family, demanding a probe.
