2,083 new Covid-19 cases recorded in Telangana; tally rises to 64,786

HYDERABAD: The number of Covid-19 cases in the state continue on an upward climb, with 2083 new cases being recorded on Saturday. Also 11 deaths were recorded over the last 24 hours in the state. With the latest numbers the total case load stands at 64,786 and the total number of deaths so far in the state stand at 530.
The number of active cases in the state rose to 17,754 on Saturday, even as the total number of patients recovered from the Covid-19 infection now stand at 46,502. Sample testing in the state has been on the rise over the last couple of days and on Saturday 21,011 samples were tested, inching close to the 25,000 mark set by the government to be reached by mid-week.
After a dip in numbers about a fortnight back, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is again seeing an upswing in numbers. On Saturday, a total of 578 new cases were recorded in the GHMC area- highest in the state, while neighbouring Medchal Malkajgiri saw 197 cases, Ranga Reddy saw 228 cases, Sanga Reddy 101 cases. Also Karimnagar with 108 cases and Warangal Urban with 134 cases continue to witness the surge while all other districts in the state too recorded between 8- 73 cases.
