Pimpri-Chinchwad police has warned people if seen violating lockdown rules have to face stringent action

Pimpri: The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) issued a set of guidelines amid the lockdown which is extended till August 31. Though the administration has given some relaxations on the lockdown, the city police have tightened the rules in restricted areas.

People's movements have already been restricted from 9 pm to 5 am except for essential services and medical services. Also, the restrictions are being imposed for those residing in the containment areas.

Official order in this regard has been issued by Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissioner Sandeep Bishnoi. The order clarifies that citizens will not be allowed to leave the area for any reason other than essential services.

The number of coronavirus positive patients is increasing day by day in the industrial hub which has created an atmosphere of concern among the citizens. Efforts are being made by the administration to bring the situation under control. However, many people are seen flouting the lockdown rules here.

The order excludes Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation officials, employees, police officers, staff and vehicles providing essential services from coronavirus prevention measures.

For the banking facilities of the citizens in the restricted area, all the banks have been asked to operate between 10 am to 2 pm on working days. Also, ATMs should be fully operational. The sale of milk, vegetables and fruits will continue in this area from 10 am to 2 pm. At this time, the curfew order will apply to all citizens.

Violation of the order imposed by the police administration will result in legal action against the person concerned as per Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 51 to 60 of the Disaster Management Act 2005 and the provisions of the Epidemic Disease Act 1897 as well as the prevailing law.
