112 startups will get financial assistance for employing youth in the agriculture sector

To realize the vision of a self-reliant India, the Ministry of Agriculture will now encourage the youth to set up agriculture and allied industries under the Agricultural Entrepreneurship Development Program. In its first phase, in 2020-21, 122 startups will be given the assistance of Rs 1,185.90 lakhs.

The aim of the ministry is to motivate the youth for more farming and farming-related businesses. This will solve the problem of employment and rural youth will become self-sufficient. The youth associated with the startups selected for these agricultural startups will also be given two months of training. This scheme of the Ministry embodies the Prime Minister's call to ensure the use of innovation and technology in agriculture and allied sectors and to promote agricultural entrepreneurship with the help of agricultural startups.

1,185.90 lakh financial assistance will be given as installments to the innovations selected in this scheme. With the increase in income of farmers, the use of hi-tech technology will increase in agriculture and allied activities. All these new startups being connected with the advanced methods of food processing farming and seed bank and food preservation businesses will result in the farmer getting the right price for his produce. For this, the Ministry will also organize Hackathon twice a year to meet the needs of equipment and designs.

So that new ideas of Indian youth can be adopted under the Hitech system. Apart from this, the nodal system of various departments and schemes will also be motivated to adopt new technologies for the development and adoption of new technologies for agriculture-based activities and competition in the field of agriculture at the level of the Ministry.

Regarding the scheme to connect the youth with employment, Union Minister for Agriculture Welfare, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Narendra Singh Tomar said that the Innovation and Agri-Entrepreneurship Development Program has been linked separately to promote innovation and agricultural entrepreneurship. Under this, more startups will be given financial assistance.
