Matka king Jignesh Thakkar shot dead outside his office in Kalyan

KALYAN: Four persons shot dead matka king Jignesh Thakkar, also known as Muniya, outside his office on Friday late night in Kalyan.
The police said that in the attack, Muniya had suffered four rounds bullet and he was taken to Fortis hospital in Kalyan where he was declared dead.
Following the incident, on complaint of associate of Muniya local Mahatma phule police have registered Murder and Arms Act related case against gangster Dharmesh alias Nannu Shah, his associate Jaipal alias Japan and two unknown persons.
Police sources said that Nannu is a former gangster who has several cases registered against him. He was earlier associated with underworld don Chotta Rajan.
The police said that two days ago, Muniya had some dispute with Chetan Patel who is associates of Nannu and over same dispute on Friday night when Muniya alongwith his one associate was sitting outside his office and was planning to return back home during which Nannu, Jaipal and two unidentified came at spot and they started firing on Muniya.
In the complaint, Muniya's associate said that while returning back attackers shown him revolver and threatened that they will also kill him also but later escaped from the spot.
The police have found that Muniya, who have several Matka businesses in Kalyan and surrounding areas like Dombivli and Ulhasnagar, had some business rivalry with Nannu Shah that have led to killing.
The police said that several teams have been formed to nab the culprits.
