7 Surat zones have over 1K Covid-19 cases

Surat: Seven out of the total eight civic zones in the city have more than 1,000 Covid-19 cases now.
On Thursday, Surat reported 217 new cases, with Rander and Varachha (A) zones accounting for the highest - 39 each. Six people also succumbed to the infection in the city.
“Out of the eight civic zones, seven zones have over 1,000 Covid-19 cases as on Thursday,” said an SMC official. SMC officials said that Rander and Athwa zones have been reporting highest daily Covid-19 cases for the last few days and residents have been asked to stay indoors.
Meanwhile, 194 Covid-19 patients were discharged after they were recovered from the infections in Surat city.
