Moderna Inc announced that it has begun the late-stage trial of potential COVID-19 vaccine mRNA-1273 in the US. The study involves 30,000 healthy adults, which makes it the largest vaccine trial so far. It is also the first Phase-3 trial of a vaccine candidate in the US. The company hopes to deliver results by the end of November.

88% is the recovery rate of Covid patients in Delhi, which recorded the lowest daily increase in coronavirus cases in the past two months earlier this week. The national capital’s ­Covid model is being discussed “across the country and the world”, CM Arvind Kejriwal said, adding that “the coronavirus situation has improved” since June when Delhi had climbed to the second spot on the list of states worst hit by the pandemic.

British PM Boris Johnson has warned of a “second wave” of COVID-19 in Europe after Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez criticised the 14-day quarantine for travellers arriving in the UK from Spain. While the disease is under control in most of Spain, infections are spiking in the ­north-eastern part of the country.
