After preponing the jump of this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL), the BCCI is reportedly likely to postpone the final of the league. Earlier in July, the ICC’s decision to postpone this year’s T20 World Cup made the way for the BCCI to host the world’s famous cricketing tournament this year.

The T20 World Cup was slated to take place in October-November in Australia. The window will now be utilised by the BCCI to host the IPL. The tournament was originally scheduled to take place between March and May. However, the BCCI had to suspend IPL 2020 indefinitely in the light of the COVID-19 outbreak.

The Times of India reported that the BCCI is set to postpone the final of this year’s IPL by a couple of days. Reports state that the league would end on November 8. However, the report stated that it would now conclude on November 10.

TOI reported, “Even if the players are left without any IPL matches, they will continue to remain in UAE and participate in a camp there. As soon as the IPL is over, the remaining players – busy playing the final knockout matches of the league – will join the rest and the entire team will fly together from there.”

November 10, also comes in the Diwali week which will content the broadcaster too. The primary reason for the change, however, is the promise made to Cricket Australia which will see the players from India avoid a return home and will straight board the flight to series Down Under.
