TN Tamil Nadu Board 11th Plus One Result 2020 LIVE UPDATES: The Directorate of Government Examinations (DGE) Tamil Nadu declared the plus-one results on Friday. Over 9 lakh students who appeared for the plus one exams this year can check their scorecard at Along with the plus one result, the board also announced the results of the candidates reappearing in their class 12 exams.
As per official data, this year the overall pass percentage improved by one percent and was recorded at 96.04 percent. Girls have once again outperformed boys, registering a pass percentage of 97.49 per cent. The pass percentage of boys was recorded at 94.38 per cent.
A total of 2,716 schools have recorded 100 per cent pass percentage. The aided schools performed better with 96.95 per cent, while the pass percentage of government schools stood at 92.71 per cent

The HSE +1 was made a board exam by the state in 2017. This is the third year of TN plus one board and third consecutive rise in pass percentage. From 91.3 per cent in 2017 to 95 in 2018 and this year, as many as 96.04 per cent of students have passed the exam.
The matric schools have outperformed as almost all the students from these schools cracked the exams. Matric schools had a pass percentage of as many as 99.51 per cent. Aided schools got a pass percentage of 96.95 per cent and from government schools, 92.71 per cent students cleared the class 11 exam and will be shifted to class 12. A total of 2,716 schools across modes have recorded 100 per cent pass percentage.
Coimbatore (98.10) Virudhunagar (97.90), Karur (97.51) are the top performing districts.
Both girls and boys in class 2020 have performed better than the previous year. Last year the pass percentage of girls was at 96.5 and boys at 93.3 per cent.
In the pending class 11 exams which could not be completed due to COVID-19 pandemic, the state had devised special formulae to evaluate students. The result has been calculated based on 80 per cent weightage to students’ performance in quarterly and half-yearly exams and 20 per cent based on attendance.
The Tamil Nadu board is likely to announce the SSLC, class 10 result next week. The result is expected to be announced by Sunday, August 9. Around 9.7 lakh candidates appeared in the class 10 exam this year

In order to clear the exam, candidates need to secure at least 35 marks out of 100 in all subjects. For those subjects having 70 marks in theory, candidates need to secure 15 in theory and a total of 35 marks. There is no minimum marks requirement in the practical or internal section

In the plus 2 result released, a total of 92.3 per cent students cleared the exam successfully. The girls have scored 5.39 per cent more than their male counterparts. A total of 94.8 per cent girls passed the exam, while the pass percentage of boys touched at 89.41 per cent.
