Hawthorn also fined for COVID-19 protocol breach as AFL takes stand

Hawthorn have become the fourth club to fall foul of the AFL's tough stance on COVID-19 protocols with the Hawks receiving a penalty for a breach of the guidelines while in their hub.

They joined Carlton, Richmond and North Melbourne in copping a financial penalty however the Hawks' fine was larger than the other three teams as their breaches were viewed by the AFL as slightly worse.

The AFL was also set to introduce a new set of guidelines outlining protocols to avoid any further confusion with about 400 family members and AFL officials joining the hubs in Queensland on Thursday .
