Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Ashok Gehlot hit out at former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief, Mayawati over her remark that her party MLAs were merged with Congress 'unconstitutionally'.CM Ashok Gehlot said, "Mayawati is giving statement under pressure. She is working under Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) direction. BJP is a fascist party, they don't believe in democracy."

Priyanka Gandhi vacates Delhi's government bungalow

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra handed over the documents of her central government allotted accommodation, to officials of Central Public Works Department. She vacated the accommodation at Delhi's Lodhi Estate on July 30. The Central govt cancelled the allotment of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's official accommodation on July 01.

Watch: Giant fish weighing 800 kg caught off Digha coast, sold for Rs 50,000

A giant fish weighing about 800 kg was caught by fishermen off the coast of Digha in West Bengal. The fish was about 8 feet long and 5 feet wide and resembled the ear of an elephant. Fishermen in the coastal town said that this is the biggest fish they have caught in their life. The fish is believed to be a giant Manta Ray from the Ray family of fishes given the location where it was caught. A massive crowd had gathered to get a glimpse of the fish as soon as news spread in the area. The video of the fish has also gone viral on social media now. The fish was later sold off to a fish trading firm for Rs 50,000. In March another large Manta Ray, weighing around 300 kg was caught by fishermen off the Digha coast while in January, a 200 kg fish was caught in waters off Balaramgadi beach in Odisha. 'Education is politically caged in West Bengal': Governor Dhankar

West Bengal Governor, Jagdeep Dhankar on condition of education in state said that education in West Bengal is politically caged. He said, "Education is soul of society as it passes from a generation to another. It's unfortunate that in our state education is politically caged and controlled. Political grip on education is tightening, it will hurt students, education scenario and society in large."

BJP observes 12-hour bandh in North Bengal districts over death of party MLA

After Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) called a 12-hour 'bandh' in the districts of North Bengal on July 14 to protest over the death of party MLA Debendra Nath Ray, shops in Siliguri and Raiganj were seen shut. Ray's body was found hanging in Bindal near his village home. A suicide note was also found from deceased's pocket but family alleged it was a 'planned' murder. State Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar has demanded an impartial probe into the death of MLA Debendra Nath Ray.
