Assam's Covid-19 death toll reached 92 on Wednesday as four persons succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours. 1,216
patients were also discharged from
hospitals and 1,371 new cases registered across the state.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, in his tweet, said the four Covid patients who "have lost their battle against
pandemic today" are a 78-year-old man from Cachar, a 77-year-old woman from Tinsukia, and an 85-year-old physician and a 40-year-old woman from Jorhat. The cumulative confirmed cases in the state stands at 34,947. With 26,618 having recovered, there are 8,234 active cases currently..
Sarma on Wednesday also held a discussion with principal faculty of micro-biology, bio-chemistry and officials of the blood bank regarding ways to further strengthen the facility. He later tweeted, "How proud I am to share that newly established #PlasmaBank at GMCH has become a pivot of our collective compassion & hope."
