Telangana crosses 60\,000 mark in Covid cases\, death toll crosses 500 mark

Hyderabad: Telangana on Thursday announced 1,811 new Covid positive cases to take the total to 60,717 cases.

The state suffered 13 Covid deaths over the last 24 hours to take the total death toll to 505, which translates into a case fatality rate of 0.83 per cent against the national average of 2.26 per cent. While 46.13 per cent of them died of Covid, the balance 53.87 per cent died of comorbidities.

Telangana announced discharging 821 persons, which takes the total discharges to 44,572 persons, which translates into a recovery rate of 73.4 per cent as against the national average of 64 per cent. The state reported 15,640 active cases by Thursday, which includes 10,155 persons now in home/ institutional isolation where 84 per cent were asymptomatic.

Over the last 24 hours, Telangana tested 18,263 samples to take the total to 4,16,202 tests thus far. The state is awaiting 848 reports.
