Representative ImageHYDERABAD: A Myanmar national and the owner of a MeeSeva centre were arrested by officials of task force police on Wednesday.
Mohammed Farooq — a native of Kossang in Myanmar residing in Charminar — according to police had paid Syed Quadeeruddin, who owns a MeeSeva centre in Moghalpura, to illegally procure a voter ID which Farooq then used to obtain an Aadhaar card.
Farooq is said to have furnished an electricity bill to obtain voter ID. “All through the process. The accused posed as as Indian by suppressing personal details and nationality,’’ said additional deputy commissioner of police (task force), G Chakravarthy said.
Farooq had come to India in 2009 as a refugee and had stayed in Jammu and Kashmir earlier before relocating to Hyderabad in 2011.
