Jaipur discom to replace faulty meters by Aug 31

Jaipur: Jaipur discom managing director AK Gupta has directed officials to replace all non-functional meters by August 31. He said in order to end disputes of bills issued to consumers based on average consumption, the non-functional meters will be replaced by August 31. Around 1.25 lakh meters are not working in the domestic category of which more than 74, 000 meters are non-functional for over six months.
Similarly, 2,777 defunct meters of industrial connections will also be replaced by August 31 by departmental employees only. He said there are 211 sub-divisions under Jaipur discom and one-meter section will be opened in each sub-division in which 2-3 technical staff will be engaged.
In this section, the complete record of changing meters and adding new meters and removing meters will be kept at the sub-division level.
