A Coles worker has tested positive to COVID-19 in Victoria as the state battles through a massive surge of cases.
The supermarket giant confirmed the employee from Lara, west of Melbourne, tested positive to COVID-19 on Thursday.
While the worker has not been inside the store since July 23, a number of people who worked in close contact with the employee have been asked to self-isolate.

'Coles will continue to work with the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services to finalise contact tracing,' the statement read.
'Coles' standard cleaning procedures comply with the Federal Government's COVID-19 Hygiene Practices For Supermarkets.'
As a precaution the Coles store has undergone a deep clean to ensure the safety of its employees and customers.
