Representative imageJAIPUR: Dausa police arrested three accused who had thrashed a youth mercilessly a week ago, which had resulted in his death.
The accused had also uploaded the video of the beating on social media. According to officials, they had some old rivalry with the victim and had planned his murder. The incident is of Lawan police station in Dausa district.
The deceased was identified as Jeevaram, 25, while the accused are Mahesh Poswal, 22, Kapil Kumar, 23 and Chauthmal Meena, 24.
ASP Dausa, Anil Chauhan said, “On July 22 night, the accused along with half a dozen others invited the victim for a birthday party. After the celebration, they took him to the fields in the village under some false pretext where they brutally thrashed him. As soon as we received information, our team rushed to the spot, but the accused fled leaving Jeevaram injured.”
The victim was referred to Jaipur, but succumbed to his injuries. One of the accused recorded the murder and uploaded it on social media.
“As per the investigation, about a month back, the victim had beaten up one of the accused and that video was also circulated on social media. Following this, the accused who are small-time criminals in Dausa, planned the murder to take revenge. This was essentially a case of one-year old rivalry,” added Chauhan.
Police are also going to take cognizance of the video as it is an essential piece of evidence as it showed the murder being committed. “We are looking for the others who were involved in the execution and planning of the murder. The questioning of the arrested persons should reveal the locations of the others who are currently on the run,” said the official. A case of murder has been registered against all the persons visible in the video.
