215 new COVID cases in Goa

221 patients recover from coronavirus in 24 hours

Panaji: The state recorded  215 new cases of the coronavirus infections on Thursday. At the same time 221 COVID patients have recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours. With these recoveries and new cases, the confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Goa currently stand at 5,704; of which 1,657 are active, while 4005 people have recovered.

Till date, 43 COVID patients have succumbed to the deadly disease in the state.

According to the directorate of health services, the 1,657 active cases include 61 persons who travelled to Goa from outside by road, rail and air.

A majority of the active COVID-19 cases in Goa fall under the jurisdiction of urban health centre of Vasco with 391 cases, the primary health centre of Cortalim has 343 cases,  UHC Margao has 107 cases while the PHC Ponda has recorded 94 cases within its jurisdiction.

The community health centres from where the cases are emerging are Bicholim (4), Sankhali (43), Pernem (6), Valpoi (9), Curchorem (12) and Canacona (3). The other UHCs include Mapusa (43) and Panaji (76).

The COVID cases are also surfacing from the jurisdiction of PHCs that include Aldona (10), Betki (7), Candolim (39), Cansarvanem (6), Colvale (54), Corlim (15), Chimbel (66), Siolim (12), Porvorim (19), Mayem (5),  Balli (38), Cansaulim (18), Chinchinim (1), Curtorim (31), Loutolim (40), Marcaim (18), Quepem (8), Sanguem (5), Shiroda (14), Dharbandora (32), and Navelim (27).
