Many saints have contributed to the struggle for Ram temple. In such a situation it becomes imperative to remember his contribution in the auspicious time of construction of Ram temple. The founder of Phatik Shila Ashram on the Saryu coast, Saketwasi Saint Narayan Das alias Tapaswi Baba, was trying to build a lifelong Ram Temple.

He was the supreme worshiper of Lord Shri Ram, his desire was that the construction of Ram temple should be smooth and every house of the world should worship Rama. With the desire to build a Ram temple, he started the Akhand Ramnama Sankirtan at Phatik Shila Ashram in 1985 touching the stream of Saryu, the tune of Ahurnish Rama continues to resonate even today.

The Phatik Shila Ashram was established in 1978 by the ascetic saint Narayan Das on the banks of the Saryu. He was the ultimate seeker of Rama's name, he had immense loyalty in Rama Nama. Along with this, he used to be concerned about Ram temple construction and world peace. He first undertook a 27-day hunger strike in 1978, wishing for world peace. He wished that Sitaramnam should be worshiped not only in India but in the whole world, his name should be publicized.

He also started performing Yajna, rituals, wishing to build Ram temple. In 1987, he performed the first mahayagya of 27 Kirtan Kunj named Sri Sitaram. After that, in 1990, performed 108 Kirtan Kunj Yajna. Not only this, a few months before the demolition of Babri, in 1992 also he made a mahayajya of 1008 kirtan kunjas and created the Ram temple.

Thousands of devotees from all over the country reached Ayodhya in this Mahayagya. In 1997, 1008 Kirtan kunjas were re-performed with the Mahayagya named Sitaram in Phatik rock. The year 2000 saw the great journey of ascetic Baba. Even after the decision of Ram Mandir, in January 2020, the Mahantya named Sri Sitaram of 54 Kirtan Kunjas was organized by the present Mahant Sukdev Das in the joy of paving the way for construction of Ram temple.

He had fasted just before the 1992 incident

Sukdev Das, the current Mahant of the Fatik Shila Ashram, says that Gurudev had fasted in the ashram for six days just before the December 6 incident. He was so hurt by the shooting incident in 1990 that he announced that if any of the kar sevaks were killed by the bullet, they would go on a fast. He says that after the disastrous structure collapsed, many saints of Ramnagri told him that everything was normal. Saints of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, former MP Dr. Ram Vilas Das Vedanti, Mahant Shivramdas, Mouni Ji Maharaj, etc., had ended their fast.

Gurudev's dream is now coming true

Mahant Sukdev Das Ram Mandir of Phatik Shila is delighted to begin construction. They say that Gurudev's dream is now coming true. His dream of constructing a built Ram temple is now being fulfilled. He fasted for Ram temple. The Akhand Ramnama Sankirtan started on his behalf in 1985, continues to this day. Today his dream is going to come true.
