The stock market is not closed on July 31, Friday, when India would be celebrating Eid al-Adha, or the so-called Bakri Eid. It would be an exception this year as stock exchanges and commodities markets used to observe this holiday in the previous years.
Though it is an official holiday and offices will be closed in most states, the equity, commodities and currency markets would operate normally. It will also be a bank holiday across the country. RBI officies in Jammu, Kochi, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram will remain closed.
Commodities markets will also remain open and NCDEX and MCX have no holiday for Friday.
