The accused (centre) has been identified as Golden.YAMUNANAGAR: Police on Tuesday arrested a man for allegedly raping a six-year-old girl in a village of the district.
The arrested accused has been identified as Golden (22), who was presented before the Yamunanagar court on Wednesday, which sent him to judicial custody, police said.
As per the information, the girl lived with her parents at a rented accommodation and accused also lived in the same locality.
On the complaint of the girl's mother, the police registered a case against Golden under Section 6 (punishment for aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 376-AB (punishment for rape on a women below 12 years of age) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Yamunanagar women police station on Tuesday
“I work at a factory and on Monday evening, when I returned home, my daughter told me that she was raped by our neighbour Golden in the bathroom,” the girls mother alleged in her complaint.
She stated that her daughter received some serious injuries in her private parts and was hospitalised.
“On Monday night, the parents of a girl called the police and lodged a complaint against the accused on Tuesday. We registered a case and arrested the accused on Tuesday only,” said SHO Somwati.
“The accused has confessed to his crime and his statements were recorded before the court. The investigation into this case is being carried forward,” the SHO said.
