Salute to the spirit: warriors who forget the world and doing their duty wearing PPE kits

People are returning to their homes after winning the battle with Corona infection, so there is also the hard work, sacrifice, and passion of doctors behind it. Dr. Praneet Ansal is one such doctor. Dr. Ansal, the Senior Resident at ESIC Medical College, has been doing duty in ICU for eight hours continuously for the last five months. With his treatment and counseling, 15 corona patients have recovered and are now leading a normal life.

Dr. Praneeth, the resident of Ranchi, has joined ESIC Medical College and Hospital in March itself. He used to see corona patients in OPD in March – April when the virus had little effect and ESIC was not declared a Kovid hospital. After this, he started giving duty in ICU. During this period, the risk of infection was very high, because, in OPD, patients who came for examination did not know who was infected and who was not. PPE kits were also not available then. The work became easier after Kovid Hospital was declared.

Regarding problems during treatment, he says that all doctors have to wear PPE kits before entering the ICU. There was also a problem in wearing glasses after wearing the kit, due to humidity does not look clear with glasses and if not wearing then headaches start. The biggest thing is that whatever food has to be drunk before going to ICU has to be eaten before wearing the PPE kit. After this, you cannot even go to the toilet.

I will not sit until the end of Corona

Dr. Praneeth is recently married. Wife Dr. Supreet Sonali is also posted in COVID Duty at Ranchi Hospital. Father Anuj and mother Kanchan stay at home. In such a situation, parents and wives talk only on video calls. It is said that due to the increasing infection, the family is also worried, but for me, duty is before home. This is my religion. So I will not sit until I beat Corona.

Sometimes feel very afraid

Dr. Praneet said that two-three months ago, the number of elderly patients in ICU was more. But for one or two months, young patients are also being admitted. Seeing them, I am very afraid that I might also fall prey to Corona. However, the Kovid test has been conducted three times so far and the report has been negative.
