Pune: Elderly couple found dead at their residence in Karve Nagar

Pune: In a shocking incident, a Pune based elderly couple were found dead at their residence in Karve Nagar. The incident came into light on Monday.

Primary probe into the death states that the husband allegedly killed his wife and soon ended life by hanging as a fallout to both of their continued illnesses. A case has been lodged at Alankar Police Station.

Avinash Hemant Gore (69) and Vaishali (66) are the names of the deceased. The maid was the first to inform the family members of the couple, who later told the police. Avinash was found hanging with a dupatta while his wife-Vaishali was found lying unresponsive.

According to the police officials, “Avinash was working as steno at Life Insurance Company (LIC). His wife Vaishali was suffering from prolonged illness. Avinash recently complained about his health conditions to his friends. Fed up with the prolonged illness of his wife, Avinash killed her and later committed suicide.”

The police officials tried reaching out to their relatives but did not receive any response from them. Later, the police rushed to their house and found the couple dead. The couple has a daughter who stays at Sinhagad Road.
