Pune: Chitale Bandhu Mithaiwale’s witty comeback to the ‘I have joke’ trend

Pune: Due to the coronavirus lockdown, the entire country has been quarantining at their home. To keep themselves entertained, social media users have come up with many challenges.

From past few days, Twitter users have been sharing their best one-liners as a new joke trend made the buzz. The ‘I have a joke’ trend went viral on the social media handles after a number of high-profile accounts got in on the action.

The plot of ‘I have a joke’ is simple: The joke focuses around a pun, delivering a simple, yet effective punchline. Started as a bid to share funny remarks about various professions, the trend is now flooding social media platforms. People are now sharing their, sarcastic or funny punchlines using the hashtag #IHaveAJoke.

In the same trend, one Punekar tried to troll the city’s famous Chitale Bandhu Mithaiwale. What started as a milk distribution business in the 1950s is currently one of the biggest household names not only in Pune but across the state for sweets and snacks.

However, Chitale Bandhu gave a befitting reply to the user. In a reply, the Chitale replied, “We have a joke for you too, you can find it on our website even on a Monday!”

Many people had earlier made jokes on the shop as the shop used to keep its outlets shut between 1 pm and 4 pm. Well, it has bid adieu to its siesta time. The management had already decided that it will do away with this three-hour break and keep the outlets open to all through the day.
