Tenth death of cop in Thane city police due to coronavirus infection

THANE: A 54-year-old Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) from Thane city police succumbed to covid-19 infection.
This is the 10 death of cop under the jurisdiction of Thane police commissionerate, said a police officer.
The victim, Kalidas Gangaram Pawar, attached to Kalyan control room was admitted at Nair hospital in Mumbai on 24 july and was tested positive for covid-19 infection on 26 july. His condition detoriated on Tuesday and at around 1.41 pm, he breathed last.
A senior police official said that he was on medical leave since March 16.
