NEW DELHI: IT shares were trading with gains in Tuesday's session.

<br> Shares of Tata Consultancy Services(up 3.68 per cent) , Tech Mahindra (up 2.62 per cent) , MPhasis (up 2.22 per cent) , Wipro (up 1.79 per cent) , HCL Technologies (up 0.83 per cent) , Info Edge (India) (up 0.66 per cent) and <a target="_blank" href="/infosys-ltd/stocks/companyid-10960.cms">Infosys</a> (up 0.62 per cent) were among the top gainers.

<br> The Nifty IT index was trading 1.61 per cent up at 17910.35 around 02:13PM.

<br> Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 124.45 points at 11256.25, while the BSE Sensex was up 416.0 points at 38350.73.

<br> Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 40 were trading in the green, while 10 were in the red. 
<br> 
<br> Shares of YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, ICICI Bank, Alok Industries, Tata Motors, SBI, GMR Infra, BHEL, Axis Bank and IDFC First Bank Ltd. were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
