In a bizarre display, a Bharatiya Janta Party leader on Tuesday rode a donkey to seek blessings from rain gods in Rau area of Indore. The leader even rode the donkey backwards for some distance. Clad in flashy clothes, wearing a traditional turban and flanked by his supporters, Rau Nagar panchayat president Shiv Narayan Dingu took to the streets atop a donkey claiming that the area will see rains in next 24 hours. “Wait and watch. This is a tradition we have been following. It will rain in 24 hours,” Dingu told reporters after finishing his ride on the donkey.
