- India on Tuesday reported 47,704 more COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the country's count of coronavirus cases to 14,83,157, informed the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
- Out of the total cases, there are 4,96,988 active cases in the country while the number of patients cured/discharged and migrated stands at 9,52,744.
- With 654 deaths due to COVID-19 in the country reported in the last 24 hours, the death toll rises to 33,425.
- The recovery rate among COVID-19 patients has increased to 64.23 per cent. The recoveries to deaths ratio is 96.6 per cent:3.4 per cent, informed the Centre.

- The niche bike maker said it has rolled out a doorstep service facility 'Service on Wheels' for its customers in the country in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

- The service is aimed at safe, seamless and hassle-free motorcycle service experience to customers at their doorsteps, Royal Enfield said in a statement.

- The company is taking certain steps especially on the corporate side of business.
- It currently has over 800 large corporate customers and more than 20,000 small and medium enterprise (SME) customers.

Nifty’s one-year forward valuation at record high

179 professional colleges shut down this year
- Nearly 180 professional colleges, including engineering institutes and business schools, have shut down during the academic year 2020-21.
- This is the highest number of closure of technical institutions in the last nine years.
- At least 134 institutes did not seek approval this year in view of large number of seats lying vacant over the last 5 years.
- At least 44 institutes could not get approval or their approvals were withdrawn due to punitive action by the technical education regulator.
- Over 69,000 seats in 762 colleges have been reduced due to reduction in intake or closure of a particular course or division.

CLSA, Edelweiss downgrade Reliance Industries
- Edelweiss downgraded the stock to 'hold' with a target price of Rs 2,105.

Fine for not wearing mask raised to Rs 500 in Gujarat
- The Gujarat government has increased the fine for not wearing face mask and spitting in public places in the state to Rs 500 from Rs 200 announced earlier. The decision was taken by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Tuesday, the government said in a release.
- Except for some parts of the state like the municipal limits of Ahmedabad and Surat, the government had earlier fixed Rs 200 as fine for not wearing face mask. This will be increased to Rs 500 starting August 1, the release said.
