Government-owned telco Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has extended the validity of its promotional 6 paise cashback offer till August 31. The '5 pe 6' cashback offer has seen multiple extensions since it was first introduced in December 2019.

The extension was highlighted on BSNL Tamil Nadu's Twitter handle. The development was first reported by Only Tech.

The offer can be availed by landline users for calls for more than 5 minutes. Users can avail of a maximum cashback of Rs 50 per month. Through this offer, BSNL customers get a cashback of 6 paise by making a voice call or sending an SMS. It is available to BSNL wireline, broadband, and fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) subscribers.

The offer was brought in last year as a response to Reliance Jio's introduction of IUC charge which was also 6 paise per minute. To activate the BSNL cashback offer, type "ACT 6 paisa" in the SMS compose box and send it to 9478053334. The money is credited in the form of cashback to the subscriber.

BSNL to revise landline fixed monthly charges from August: BSNL will increase the fixed monthly charges from August 1. BSNL Odisha circle made the announcement on its website saying that the plans will be hiked in the range of Rs 4 to Rs 30. The development was first reported by Telecom Talk.

BSNL Base plan at Rs 149: BSNL Odisha circle offers five major landline plans with the base plan at Rs 129. The base plan at Rs 129 offers users unlimited calling within the BSNL network and calling worth of Rs 100 to other networks. BSNL said it will now increase the base plan to Rs 149 starting August 1, 2020.

General FMC 180 Rural Plan at Rs 199: BSNL will also increase the fixed monthly charge(FMC) of its General FMC 180 rural plan to Rs 199 starting August 1. It was formerly priced at Rs 180. The FMC 180 Rural plan offers 180 minutes worth of free calls to any network. Once the limit of 180 minutes is reached, the telco charges Rs 1 to calls made to BSNL users and Rs 1.2 to calls made to non-BSNL users. Users must know that BSNL offers unlimited free calls to users under this plan between 10.30 pm to 6 am each day.

Rural All CUL at Rs 279: BSNL will increase the price of its Rural all CUL plan to Rs 279. It was initially priced at Rs 249. The Rural All CUL plan enables users to make unlimited local and STD calls to any network.

Value All CUL at Rs 329: BSNL will increase its Value All CUL plan to Rs 329 starting August 1. The plan was initially priced at Rs 299 per month with 250 free calls to BSNL and other networks.

BSNL Special Rent plan at Rs 499: BSNL will increase its BSNL Special Rent plan to Rs 499 starting August 1. The plan was initially priced at Rs 495 per month with 500 free calls to BSNL and other networks.

BSNL Aseem mobile service validity reduced to four months: BSNL also noted that it will reduce its Aseem mobile service validity to four months from six months. The plan comes at Rs 99 for four months and lets users forward all the incoming calls on the virtual number enabled by the operator to a mobile or landline as selected by the user at the time of registration.
