Coronavirus in Coimbatore: SSI at Podanur police station tests positive for Covid-19

COIMBATORE: A special sub-inspector (SSI) attached to the Podanur (crime) police station in Coimbatore tested positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday.
The SSI was engaged in petition inquiry at the police station. A few days ago, he was deployed for vehicle check.
On Sunday, he developed flu symptoms and was advised to take Covid-19 test. He gave a swab sample on Monday, and the result showed that he contracted Covid-19.
The station was closed for fumigation, and more than seven cops attached to the Podanur crime police station were asked to give their swab samples for test.
As many as eight cops at the Podanur (law&order) police have tested positive for Covid-19.
