Woman found dead in apartment’s tank in Bengaluru

Gowri Nagaraj
BENGALURU: A 49-year-old woman, who went missing on Friday, was found dead in a water tank of her apartment complex in Yelahanka New Town on Sunday night.
The incident came to light after the residents noticed the water they were getting in their flats was emitting foul smell and summoned a plumber to look into the problem. The plumber found the decomposed body.
Gowri Nagaraj, resident of SMIG apartment complex, 5th Phase, was a real estate broker. Bhimashankar S Guled, deputy commissioner of police (northeast), said it was a suicide over financial problem. Police have taken up a case against Gopi, Bhargav and Devarajappa of Jayasurya Developers for abetting the suicide based on Gowri’s suicide note. Gowri’s husband HB Nagaraj had filed a complaint on the night of June 24 stating she had been missing since noon.
“She had collected money from a few people on the promise of getting them residential sites and given it to Jayasurya Developers. But the builder neither delivered sites nor returned the money. We’ll summon the suspects,” a police officer said.
