The parents of the school-going children in Goa, in their feedback to the department of school education and literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development have stated that they are not ready to send their children to school, unless and until the ongoing Corona pandemic comes under total control in the state, or a vaccine is ready to counter the virus.

The parents are also ready to treat the academic year 2020-21 as Zero Academic Year, if need be.

The central ministry had sent a letter to the education secretaries of states and Union Territories directing them to provide feedback of parents by July 20, as regards what is the likely period when they will be comfortable with reopening of the schools, August/ September/ October 2020.

The letter had also asked for the parents’ feedback about their expectations from schools as and when they reopen.

Almost all parents have given priority to the health and safety of their wards than to their education.
