168 more people are COVID positive

The state continued reporting a surge in COVID-19 cases, as 168 more people tested positive for the COVID-19 pandemic on Tuesday.

Around 185 COVID patients have recovered from the dreaded disease in the last 24 hours.

With these recoveries and new cases, the confirmed cases of COVID in Goa currently stand at 5287; of which 1656 are active cases, while 3595 people have defeated the deadly disease.

A total of 36 COVID fatalities have been reported in the state.

According to the directorate of health services, the 1,656 active cases include 93 people who travelled to Goa from outside by road, rail and air.

A majority of the active COVID cases in Goa fall under the jurisdiction of the urban health centre of Vasco with 381 cases, while the primary health centre of Chimbel has 340 cases. The UHC Margao has 111 cases and the PHC Chimbel has recorded 70 cases within its jurisdiction.

The community health centres from where the cases are emerging are Bicholim (8), Sankhali (63), Pernem (4), Valpoi (9), Curchorem (10) and Canacona (5). The other UHCs include Mapusa (37) and Panaji (59).

The COVID cases are also surfacing from the jurisdiction of PHCs that include Aldona (10),

Betki (7), Candolim (38), Cansarvanem (19), Colvale (51), Corlim (21), Chimbel (70), Siolim (15), Porvorim (17), Mayem (2),  Balli (39), Cansaulim (12), Chinchinim (2), Curtorim (27), Loutolim (29), Marcaim (15), Quepem (8), Sanguem (4), Shiroda (14), Dharbandora (36), Ponda (77), and Navelim (23).
