Telangana reports 1,610 new Covid-19 cases, tally rises to 57,142

HYDERABAD: Telangana on Tuesday recorded 1,610 new cases of Covid-19 and nine deaths, taking the total number of cases in the state to 57,142. The total deaths recorded in the state so far stand at 480, of which 221 deaths are due to COvid-19 while the remaining are due to existing co-morbidities in patients.
As per the state health bulletin, 46.12 per cent of patients who succumbed to the virus in the state had no co-morbidities, while 53.87 per cent had co-morbidities and died due to associated complications. An analysis of the breakup of positive cases in the state shows that men who had contracted the virus were twice in numbers as compared to women. While 65.6 per cent men tested positive, 34.4 per cent were women. While women in the 21-30 years age group were more susceptible to contract the virus, in case of 31-40 years age bracket was found to be more susceptible. Overall, the maximum number of patients among men and women were in the age group of 21 to 50.
A total of 15,839 samples were tested in the state, with which the state has reached 3,79,081 samples so far. Meanwhile, the state has 13,753 active cases currently, of which 8,479 are in home or institutional quarantine.
