'I recommend it to all my clients': Dietitian reveals why this $4.99 Aldi loaf of bread 'ticks all the nutritional boxes' compared to other brands
- Dietitian Aidan Muir, from Brisbane, said the Aldi low carb bread is a great buy
- The reason why he recommends it to clients is it's low carb and high protein
- He said it has a great nutritional profile that helps to keep dieters full up all day
- He's not the only one to have raved about it; others say they rush to stockpile it
A dietitian has revealed why he recommends a $4.99 high protein bread to all of his clients - comparing it to another popular mixed grain loaf on the market.
Aidan Muir, from Brisbane, posted on Instagram, where he described the Aldi low carb bread as 'fire' and a great option for everyone, whether they are dieting or not.
'Super high in fibre, protein and healthy fats, it ticks so many nutritional boxes that it is something that I have recommended even for people who are on slightly higher carb diets,' he wrote.

Aidan Muir (pictured) said the bread might have similar calories to others, but it has far more protein and far fewer carbs
Aidan added: 'In terms of calories, it comes out similarly to regular bread, but as you can imagine, it's way more filling'.
The dietitian illustrated just how healthy the Aldi bread is by comparing it to the popular loaf, Helga's Mixed Grain.
While also very healthy, the Helga's bread has just 9.6 grams of protein, as opposed to the Aldi bread's 25.6 grams.
It has 43 grams of carbohydrates, as opposed to the Aldi bread's relatively small 5.4 grams.
The two breads have a similar amount of calories and saturated fat.
Aidan added that the Aldi bread compares similarly to many other popular wholegrain loaves.

The bread (pictured) has also been a hit with Keto diet followers, with people on Reddit dubbing it an 'instant game changer' thanks to the fact that there aren't many carbs in it
Aidan isn't the only professional fan of Aldi's budget healthy loaf.
Dietitian Lyndi Cohen, from Sydney, also said there are many reasons to add it to your shopping basket:
'If you're managing your weight or want a filling or lower carb option, then this is an interesting and great product,' Lyndi previously told Daily Mail Australia.
'Normal white bread is often made up mostly of refined flour, however this option is made using seeds and wholegrains providing healthy fats, protein and fibre.'
The bread has also been a hit with Keto diet followers, with people on Reddit dubbing it an 'instant game changer'.
'This bread is amazeballs [sic]. I don't think I could ever go back. I LOVE the seeds,' one reviewer posted.
'I buy however many are on the shelf,' another added.

Many shoppers said they rush to stock up on the bread (pictured) in bulk whenever they see it on the shelves at Aldi
Lyndi said that unlike traditional breads, this 'low GI option will keep you feeling full and satisfied for many hours after eating'.
'What I find most impressive is that it's a great source of fibre, and eating a good amount of fibre can help you to manage your weight, blood sugar levels, appetite and lower your risk of some cancers,' she said.
She also said that it contains 'an incredible grain called Lupin, which is being made in Australia'.
'It's naturally very high in protein and low in carbohydrates, and is perhaps one of the reasons this bread has such impressive nutrition information,' the dietitian said.
If you're looking for another bread that gives you nutritional bang for your buck, Lyndi recommends Burgen's Soy and Lin, which costs $4.90, Helga's Lower Carb Five Seeds, which costs $4.20, and Burgen's Wholemeal and Seeds, $4.90.

It's not just dietitians who love the bread.
On social media, thousands have revealed why they love it:
'It's honestly my favourite!! Love the nutty taste and texture,' one commenter posted, highlighting that Aldi also have high carb low protein burger buns available now too.
'I was dubious the first time I bought this, but I absolutely love it,' another added.

Previously, Aidan has looked at other dietary issues, including how long it takes the typical person to metabolise a cup of coffee.
Posting on his Instagram page, Aidan revealed the average life span of a cup of caffeine, and the 'half life' that could mean you struggle with insomnia later in the day.
According to the dietitian, the most important thing to remember is that most of the caffeine you drink is 'absorbed within 45 minutes':
'The effect peaks at around the hour mark, but the average time it takes to metabolise half the caffeine for most people is five hours,' Aidan said.
'A typical person will get through the next half in another five hours (it's "half life") and so on.'
The expert said that this 'half life' does vary from person to person, and can range from a speedy hour and a half to nine and a half hours, depending on a number of factors.
'This range is due to differences in your type of CYP1A2 gene, along with everything from smoking to pregnancy, weight, altitude and even oral contraceptives,' Aidan said
