MP judge, son die, cops’ lens on atta

BHOPAL: Additional district and sessions judge Mahendra Kumar Tripathi and his 25-year-old son died of apparent food poisoning in MP’s Betul district on Saturday. The two had eaten chapatis while other family members had rice. The case has been handed to police for investigation. The two were admitted to hospital on July 22.
Betul SP Simala Prasad said, “As per the doctors, they died of food poisoning but detailed investigations are on.” Both of them were autopsied in Nagpur and the reports are awaited. Police are checking if the wheat was contaminated.
