Customers of a famous bakery in Seshadripuram live in fear after baker died due to covid

Customers who are regulars at this famous bakery in Seshadripuram, are a worried lot. The owner of the 50-year-old bakery died on Saturday after testing positive. The bakery owner was last seen at the bakery on July 18, the same day he was admitted to a private hospital. His wife has been admitted to hospital too after she developed fever. He was then moved to MS Ramaiah Hospital where he was undergoing treatment.
S Sampath Kumar, corporator of Vasanthnagar, who knew the family well said, “Last week, he was down with pneumonia and had taken thecovid test in a private hospital. When he was waiting for the results, he contacted me, requesting for a bed to be arranged as his condition was deteriorating. He was stressed about testing positive and he had a mild heart attack on Saturday evening, following which he succumbed.”
Meanwhile, panic gripped customers who were regulars. Manasa, a resident of Upper Pipeline Road said, “Twice a week, we would go to the bakery to buy bread. I had gone to the bakery about five days back and found that it was shut. On Sunday morning, the news of his death due to covid was doing the rounds on WhatsApp groups and most of us were worried whether it could be transmitted through the bakery items we ate.”
